In Moldovan capital thousands of people headed towards the court, where it will be reviewed prosecutor’s request to extend the arrest of the «Our Party» leader, the mayor of Balti Renato Usatyy up to 30 days.


This was reported by the local media. 


Protesters demand to release Usatyy, while chanting slogans «Freedom to Usatyy», «Renato», «Down with the oligarchs». The publishing house notes that the action has peaceful nature, demonstrators are holding national flags of Moldova, posters in defense of politician. The police accompanied the column of protesters.


According to the headquarters of «Our Party», from 5 to 7 thousand people are involved in the rally. Houses of Parliament, Government and other state institutions are heavily guarded by police. 


«We won’t insist on house arrest but demand the work release of politician», — said lawyer Anna Ursaki. She added that «the house arrest — is also a form of arrest».
