A Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) Il-86 plane carrying 20 tons of humanitarian aid landed at Latakia airport on Friday night. Syrian workers unloaded the supplies, which included canned meat, fish, milk and sugar, as well as blankets and other essentials.

SOT, Alexander Tomashov, Deputy Director of EMERCOM’s Department of International Activities (Russian): «We delivered food, baby products, condensed milk. We delivered blankets; it is currently autumn in Syria and people need warm clothes. We delivered aid from [the Russian] State Reserves via a regular EMERCOM flight.»
