«Croatian Railways» reported that Croatia has ceased passing of international trains from neighboring Serbia because of the migrant crisis.


The company notes that the neighboring Slovenia previously introduced similar measures on the border with Croatia «because of an emergency situation related with refugees reception», while Germany stopped the international rail communication with Austria on September 17, which means the impossibility of international trains movement to these destinations in Croatia and therefrom.


The first victims of innovations were passengers, went from Belgrade to Ljubljana via Zagreb on September 17, 9:30 p.m. (10:30 p.m. MSK). There were 40 people, including four migrants. The train wasn’t allow to enter Croatia: it completed a route at midnight in the Serbian border town of Sid.


«The Croatian side hasn’t notified «Serbian Railways» in a timely manner, that they won’t accept this train on their territory», — said the Serbian carrier.
