Nikolay Chechetkin, a chairman of the Ukrainian State Service for Emergency Situations said that the forest in the Kiev region caught fire simultaneously from four different directions, which indicates arson.

«Today, there’re no fire beds in Kiev and nearby territories. There are pockets of smoldering peat and forest floor», — said Chechetkin and suggested that the arson could be politically motivated to destabilize the situation.

At the same time there’re no official conclusions about the causes and possible perpetrators of the fire yet.
