Moscow – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said his country’s position on Syria is constructive and is based on the international law.




The Russian attitude has always been constructive with regard to the possibilities to reach a settlement to the crisis in Syria, Lavrov told journalists on the sidelines of the three-day annual meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club held in Sochi, Russia.


On Wednesday, Lavrov discussed in a phone conversation with his U.S. counterpart John Kerry the preparations for holding a Russian-US-Saudi-Turkish meeting in the Austrian capital of Vienna tomorrow to discuss reaching a political solution in Syria.
