Deputies of the Kiev Сity Сouncil imposed a temporary moratorium on the payment of foreign debts of the city from November 6, 2015.
90 deputies voted for those decision.
In particular, the head of the Budget Commission Andrew Strannikov said:
«The creditors believe that the city has sufficient funds to pay its debts as now, as in the future, but today Kiev is prepairing for the heating season, and primarily aims the budget funds to ensure the people of Kiev with heat energy, repairs and insulation of entrances and houses, installation of heat meters».
Now, a debt of Ukrainian capital is 18 billion hryvnia, 2 million hryvnia is need only on their service annually.
